In Episode 3, titled “Rearview Blind Spots,” Andrea learns that her client has been murdered by her former spouse. In Episode 5, “What Happens in Victorville,” Mickey and his new driver, Eddie Rojas (portrayed by Allyn Moriyon), become involved in a tragic accident orchestrated by De Marco, who also meets his demise by the season’s conclusion. The impact of Eddie’s death is particularly profound, as he was a family friend who had previously cared for Mickey’s daughter, Hayley (played by Krista Warner). “The consequences of what happens to him resonate beyond the immediate case,” Humphrey remarks.

García-Rulfo expresses that Eddie’s death “devastates him,” noting that it serves as a pivotal moment for Mickey as well.

“He resolves to uncover the truth and seek justice, fully aware that everything is at stake and his family is in peril. This is why I believe the apparitions are present,” García-Rulfo explains, alluding to Mickey’s visions of Gloria, Eddie, and his father in the concluding scenes of Episode 10. “His conscience compels him to pursue the matter to its conclusion. It is tragic; poor Eddie was such a kind soul.”

Later, in the opening of the final episode, “The Gods of Guilt,” Bishop, who has been collaborating with De Marco, tragically takes his own life after providing testimony. “The climax of Season 3, particularly Bishop’s testimony, stands out as one of the most memorable moments in any of Michael Connelly’s ‘Lincoln Lawyer’ novels,” Humphrey states. “In many ways, the entire series has been leading up to that pivotal event.”
